PUBLIC FEES REGULATIONS, 1999
1. |
These Regulations may be cited as the Public Fees Regulations, 1999.
|
2. |
(i) The fees for the issue of a new passport shall be—
(a) |
two thousand shillings for a thirty-two page passport;
|
(b) |
three thousand shillings for a forty-eight page passport;
|
(c) |
four thousand shillings for a diplomatic passport;
|
(d) |
two thousand shillings for a service passport;
|
(e) |
six hundred shillings for the East African Passport.
|
(ii) |
The fee for the renewal of a passport shall be—
(a) |
one thousand shillings for a thirty-two page passport;
|
(b) |
one thousand five hundred shillings for a forty-eight page passport;
|
(c) |
two thousand shillings for a diplomatic passport;
|
(d) |
one thousand shillings for a service passport;
|
(e) |
three hundred shillings for the East African Passport.
|

2. |
(i) The fees for the issue of a passport shall be—
(a) |
three thousand shillings for a thirty-two page passport;
|
(b) |
four thousand five hundred shillings for a forty-eight page passport;
|
(c) |
six thousand shillings for a diplomatic passport;
|
(d) |
three thousand shillings for a service passport;
|
(e) |
nine hundred shillings for the East African Passport.
|
(ii) |
A passport issued shall be valid for a period of ten years and shall not be renewable.
|

(a) |
The fee for the issue of a new certificate of identity (CIN) shall be two thousand shillings.
|
(b) |
The fee for renewal of a certificate of identity (CIN) shall be one thousand shillings.
|

(a) |
The fee for the issue of a new certificate of identity (CIN) shall be three thousand shillings.
|
(b) |
The certificate of identity (CIN) issued shall not be renewable.
|

4. |
The fee for the issue of a temporary permit shall be eight hundred shillings.

The fee for the issue of a temporary permit shall be three hundred shillings.
|
5. |
The fee for the endorsement of an existing valid passport with an amendment affecting the holder’s name or profession, or height or special peculiarities, shall be five hundred shillings.

6. |
The fee for the endorsement of an existing valid passport with the holder’s child shall be one thousand shillings per child.
|
7. |
The fee for the issue of a joint passport shall be—
(a) |
two thousand shillings for a thirty-two page passport;
|
(b) |
three thousand shillings for forty-eight page passport.
|

8. |
The fee for the issue of a replacement of a lost passport shall be ten thousand shillings.

(1) The fee for the issue of a replacement of a lost passport shall be ten thousand shillings.
(2) |
Subject to paragraph (1), an additional fee of five thousand shillings shall be levied for specialized expedited service, except where specifically exempted by the Minister.

(3) |
For the purposes of these Regulations, “specialized expedited service” means a service offered at the request of an applicant where a passport is issued within twenty-four hours of application.

The fee for the issue of a replacement of a mutilated passport shall be eight thousand shillings.

(1) The fee for the issue of a replacement of a mutilated passport shall be eight thousand shillings.
(2) |
Subject to paragraph (1), an additional fee of five thousand shillings shall be levied for a specialized expedited service, except where specifically exempted by the Minister.

10. |
The fee for a collective certificate of identity shall be two thousand shillings and one thousand shillings per person included.
|
11. |
The fee for the issue of Kenya visas shall be—
(a) |
fifty United States of America dollars for an ordinary or entry visa;
|
(b) |
twenty United States of America dollars for a transit visa;
|
(c) |
one hundred United States of America dollars for a multiple journey visa;
|
(d) |
ten United States of America dollars for a reference fee;
|
(e) |
gratis for diplomatic, official, service and courtesy visas.
|

11. |
The fee for the issue of Kenya visas shall be—
(a) |
fifty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for an ordinary or entry visa;
|
(b) |
twenty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a transit visa;
|
(c) |
one hundred United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a multiple journey visa;
|
(d) |
ten United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a reference fee;
|
(e) |
gratis for diplomatic, official, service and courtesy visas.
|
|
11. |
The fee for the issue of Kenya visas shall be—
(a) |
twenty-five United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for an ordinary or entry visa;
|
(b) |
ten United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a transit visa;
|
(c) |
fifty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a multiple journey visa;
|
(d) |
five United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a reference fee;
|
(e) |
gratis for diplomatic, official, service and courtesy visas, and for persons of the age of sixteen years and below.
|
|
11. |
The fee for the issue of Kenya visas shall be—
(a) |
fifty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for an ordinary or entry visa;
|
(b) |
twenty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a transit visa;
|
(c) |
one hundred United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a multiple journey visa;
|
(d) |
ten United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a reference fee;
|
(e) |
gratis for diplomatic, official, service and courtesy visas, and for persons of the age of sixteen years and below.

The Public Fees Regulations (L.N. 365/1994) are revoked.
